Let’s Get Started.

Whether you are a new client with an inquiry or an existing client, Thrive’s team is here for you. We work with your insurance, on your behalf.

Insurance FAQs

  • We know that you want to focus your time on getting better, not dealing with the intricacies of insurance claim processing.

As a service to our patients, the Thrive team will:

    • Contact your insurance provider directly to verify your benefits, co-payment and/or co-insurance

    • File your insurance claims electronically with your insurance provider

    • Monitor insurance authorizations, number of authorized visits and prescription expiration date

Patients are responsible for payments of deductibles and any coinsurance at the time of service. For your convenience, payments can be made by cash, check or credit card. FSA and HSA payments are also accepted at our location.

  • Thrive accepts all major medical insurance plans on an out-of-network basis and are contracted with Cigna PPO. We are also and are an out-of-network contracted provider for Medicare.

If you don’t have out-of-network insurance benefits we do extend a discounted cash-pay rate due at the time services are rendered. If your insurance benefits run out during the course of physical therapy we will also extend a discounted cash-pay rate. Our office staff is always available to answer any questions that you may have regarding reimbursement.

For Medicare patients, please note that we are a non-participating provider, but we can bill Medicare electronically on your behalf. Medicare will then reimburse you directly via check for any benefits you are eligible for.

  • Patients are responsible for payments of deductibles and any coinsurance at the time of service. For your convenience, payments can be made by cash, check or credit card.

  • FSA and HSA payments are also accepted at our location.

General FAQs

  • At Thrive, we are dedicated to finding the root cause of your pain or issue and committed to helping you meet your goals and expectations.

Over the course of your treatment at Thrive, you can expect the highest level of expertise and attention from our team. Each 60 minute session will be a highly productive, goal oriented one-on-one session with your therapist.

  • Manual Physical Therapy is a specialized form of physical therapy that involves hands-on techniques to diagnose and treat musculoskeletal conditions. It includes various manual techniques such as joint mobilization, soft tissue mobilization, and manual stretching.

  • Your therapist will listen to your story, learn about your symptoms and perform an extensive evaluation on your first visit. This diagnostic evaluation involves a thorough assessment of your medical history and an in-depth assessment of your posture, joint health, soft tissue mobility, biomechanics and movement patterns. Your therapist will work with you to develop a bespoke, integrated treatment plan designed to meet your goals.

  • A prescription is required for physical therapy under New York State law. To qualify, your referring physician must practice in New York state, or be within 25 miles from New York City.

If you do not have a prescription, or wish to be evaluated by a physical therapist before seeing your doctor, you are entitled to see a physical therapist for up to 10 visits or for 30 days from your initial assessment under the Direct Access law in New York State. We do, however, recommend getting a referral for PT from your doctor for physical therapy services as some insurance companies will not reimburse patients without a physician’s prescription. If you don’t have a doctor, we will be happy to recommend one.
